My favourite picture book: A History of Architecture on the Comparative Method by Sir Bannister Fletcher (1950, 15th Edition)

A History of Architecture on the Comparative Method by Sir Bannister Fletcher (1950, 15th Edition) is a beautifully illustrated book.  It explains the history and evolution of architecture around the world.  I bought this copy for $4.00 at a thrift shop.  I like to dip in and out of this book as there is always something interesting to look at and muse on.

  1. This book is incredible! I found a copy on Amazon (but it wasn't $4.00) and I can't wait to get it in my own hands! Thanks so much for posting... hope you put more scans up soon. Loved seeing St. Peter's and the Vatican! Had no idea it was so comprehensive. Now I really can't wait!
